Intake 39 Electronic & Telecommunication Engineering students got an enormous privilege to visit SLTMOBITEL Data Center in Pitipana, Sri Lanka on 25th March 2024. There are several reasons to locate a Data Center in a country. Concerning all the factors like power, environment, climate, and many other factors, SLT decided to locate a data center there. Therefore, this Data center is a Tier 3 Data Centre in Sri Lanka. This is the country’s first ‘Purpose built, tier 3 Data Centre’ recognized as the “National Data Centre” in operation and will enhance the provision of a secure and reliable data hosting facility and cloud computing services in Sri Lanka. The Engineers and other specialized staff members provided informational knowledge on the technologies, knowledge on Speed, connectivity, power distribution and security systems of the Data center. Our warm gratitude goes to all the staff members of SLT Tier 3 Data Centre in Pitipana for giving us this special opportunity.
