KDU wins the University Category 3rd and 6th Places at the CAD EAGER 2023 Competition

The Young Members Section (YMS) of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL), in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (DMME), University of Ruhuna, have organised the Computer Aided Design (CAD) competition?"CAD EAGER 2023" for the 8th consecutive time this year at TECHNO 2023, the National Engineering and Technology Exhibition of the IESL. Over the years, the annual competition has received wider acceptance by enthusiastic undergraduates from many engineering faculties in the country. For the first time, KDU students participated in this competition.

The final round of the competition was conducted with the participation of 29 competing groups from 8 universities this year. The group, consisting of students from Intake 37 of MSM Marshad (Mechatronic Engineering) and DDNL Daluwatte (Mechanical Engineering), emerged as the 3rd best performing group at this event. At the same time, the group consisting of students from Intake 37 Mechanical Engineering of APDV Jayathilake and BRPDA Boraluwa won 6th place.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is really proud of their achievement and wishes them all the best for their growth. The department also appreciated the other three groups of students who represented KDU in this competition.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, KDU offers two bachelor’s degree programmes, namely, BScEngHons in Mechanical Engineering and BScEngHons in Mechatronic Engineering.
