On July 31, 2024, the IMechE Student Chapter of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) successfully executed its second Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project for the year. The initiative focused on equipping students from grades 12 and 13 at Sri Rajasinghe Central College, Kudabuthgamuwa, Kotikawatta, with essential leadership skills and career guidance.

The project, guided by the IMechE Officer in Charge Captain R.S. Ginige, commenced at 8:30 AM with an overview of the day’s program by D/S Lenin, followed by an introduction to KDU by O/C Abeysinghe. The society members also inspired the students to pursue their career goals with determination.

A talent show provided a platform for students to showcase their abilities in acting, singing, dancing, and other talents. The workshop concluded at 3:30 PM with a vote of thanks delivered by D/S Lenin, IMechE Student Chapter President. He expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal of Sri Rajasinghe Central College for the opportunity and acknowledged the contributions of all participants in the project’s success.
