The Biomedical Engineering degree programme is a 4 year (eight semesters) course including a 6-month period for industrial training. An additional period of 6 months is allocated for military training especially for officer cadets. The students in the Faculty of Engineering select their specializations at the end of the first semester. Presently, the department accommodates students who fall into following categories.

  • The officer cadets permanently recruited to the armed forces
  • The commissioned officers
  • The students who are admitted to the faculty as day-scholars on fee levying basis
  • The volunteer force officer cadets on fee levying
Eligibility Criteria
All students admitted to the program meets IESL prescribed degree standards which is, a minimum of 2 C passes and 1 S pass in GCE Advanced Level (Local) in the Physical Science Stream (Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in one and the same sitting or a minimum of 2 B passes and 1 C pass in GCE Advanced Level (Cambridge or Edexcel) covering Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in one and the same sitting.
