  • Engineering Workshop

Workshop practice serves as the backbone of the real industrial environment, fostering the development and enhancement of essential technical hand skills crucial in various engineering industries. The workshop experiences would help to build the understanding of the complexity of the industrial job, along with the time and skills requirements of the job. Understanding the essentiality of having an adequate workshop facility to conduct practical training for Engineering undergraduates to enhance their practical know-how on workshop technology, KDU has established a fully-fledged workshop. The engineering workshop consists of various types of conventional and sophisticated machines to conduct practical training of different machining processes such as lathe, conventional milling, shaping, grinding, tool grinding, etc.

Further facilities are available to conduct practical training for undergraduates on various types of welding methods such as gas welding, Arc welding, Tig welding, Mig welding, etc. In addition to that, the workshop consists of facilities to impart basic know-how of handling various hand tools, power tools, and machine tools. Students have the opportunity to use the Engineering Workshop for their Research and Project Work. Resources in the workshop not only help the students to complete the engineering module-based practical work but also supports undertaking undergraduate projects, creative competitive working models manufacturing to the postgraduate research projects of social and industrial relevance.
