The Industrial Guidance Program, Industry 1.0, organized by the Student Chapter of IMechE at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, was successfully concluded on 1^st of September 2022 with the participation of undergraduates of intakes 37 and 38 of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Vice President of the Student Chapter, Mr. Anuradha Boraluwa welcomed the gathering. Mrs. P.P.S.S. Pussepitiya addressed the gathering and gave an insight to the industry. Then Mr.  Thiwanka Ranasinghe, ELV Engineer at Power Plus Holdings shared his experience in the industry and gave valuable advice for the undergraduates on how to successfully complete the industrial training. Next, Mr. Aadhil Zameek who joined via Zoom talked about the important points on how an undergraduate should work in his training period and the areas which they should pay greater attention. Mr. Shalintha Thalawegame, Automation Engineer at Atlas Axillia enlightened the gathering on the current engineering trends in the industry and shared his experience at Atlas. The guest speakers of the event answered all the questions raised in the Question & Answer session elaboratively. Finally, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department Captain D.S. Bogahawatte shared his experience and emphasized the importance of the industrial training period in the life of an undergraduate. Mr. Nisala Randeniya and Miss Britnie Sinthuja were the moderators of the event. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of the Head of the Department, Captain DS Bogahawatte, Industrial Training Engineer, Commander T.A.D.B.P. Thissaarachchi, Academic Coordinator of the Student Chapter, Captain T.D.K. Gunasena, academic staff of the Mechanical Engineering Department and committee members of the Student Chapter. The session was concluded, and the vote of thanks was delivered by project Co-chair Mr. Vidarsha Pihillanda.
