Intake 41 Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering Undergraduates visited the Atlas Axillia Cp PVT Ltd - Welisara plant on 03rd September 2025. The visit offered a fascinating glimpse into the world of high-speed automated manufacturing, revealing the complex engineering behind everyday stationery products.

The visit began on the factory floor where students observed how raw materials are transformed into finished goods through different stages of production. They learned about the company’s use of advanced machinery, automation, and efficient systems that allow products to be made quickly and with high consistency. From adhesives and plastic items to crayons, the students were able to see entire production lines in operation, gaining an appreciation of both the scale and organization required in modern manufacturing. The tour concluded with a look at the plant’s supporting facilities, which highlighted the importance of reliable infrastructure in keeping the operations running smoothly.

This visit to Atlas Axillia was an eye-opening experience that perfectly complemented academic studies. It demonstrated how principles of automation, robotics, chemical processes, and mechanical design come together to create a successful and efficient manufacturing operation.
