The Department of Aeronautical Engineering successfully conducted its annual Department Industry Consultative Board (DICB) meeting on September 18, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
The DICB 2025 brought together distinguished representatives from the aviation industry, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, and the Sri Lanka Air Force to provide expert guidance on curriculum development, industry collaboration, and graduate employability enhancement.
The meeting was attended by faculty members from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, senior officials from Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), Sri Lankan Airlines, and private aviation organizations.
The primary focus areas of the DICB 2025 included:
Review and refinement of the degree programme curricula
Discussion of industry trends and their integration into academic programmes
Enhancement of industrial training opportunities for students
Strengthening university-industry partnerships
Addressing graduate employment prospects in the evolving aviation sector
