A fire drill was conducted at the FOE building to check the performance of the newly installed fire protection & detection system and train staff members for evacuation procedures in case of a fire. Accordingly, the fire alarm sounded at 1100 hrs on 09^th September, consequently, members evacuated the building using two staircases and assemble at two pre-marked assembly points outside of the building. In the meantime, a team of trained firefighters engaged with fire on the 6^th floor of the building using the newly installed fire protection system. After the successful completion of the drill, a short training session was conducted to educate students and staff members about the correct operating procedure of first aid fire extinguishers. The drill and the training session were planned and conducted by the department of Marine Engineering.
