Faculty of Engineering proudly hosted the “Ignite” Engineering Exhibition 2025 on the 13th and 14th of February, showcasing innovation, creativity, and engineering excellence. The exhibition featured projects across three main categories: Final Year Projects, Undergraduate Projects, and School Projects, drawing participation from students and aspiring young innovators.
The event commenced with a series of interactive workshops on Day One, designed to inspire and educate both undergraduates and schoolchildren. These sessions focused on practical engineering concepts and emerging technologies, fostering curiosity and hands-on learning.
Projects were evaluated based on engineering discipline clusters, with the best undergraduate and final-year projects recognized accordingly. In the school category, the top three projects were selected and awarded for their ingenuity and potential.
From the Civil Engineering Discipline, the award for the best final year project was won by Ms. Nuwandie Bandara.
The final-year projects selected for the exhibition from the Department of Civil Engineering were;
