Overview
The Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS-KDU) was founded in 2022 by students of the 37th Intake, Faculty of Engineering. It is established for all undergraduates of KDU interested in educating themselves or wanting to pursue a career in Space Exploration and Aerospace Engineering. This student chapter aims to provide opportunities for undergraduates to engage in space-related activities, projects, and discussions, fostering a passion for space and inspiring the next generation of space leaders.
About SEDS
SEDS was founded as a chapter-based organization in 1980 at MIT by Peter Diamandis, at Princeton University by Scott Scharfman, and at Yale University by Richard Sorkin. SEDS-USA was founded as a national group in 1982 by Peter Diamandis, Bob Richards, and Todd Hawley. The largest student-run space organization in the world, it consists of an international community of high school, undergraduate, and graduate students from a diverse range of educational backgrounds in chapters all over the world including:

SEDS Sri Lanka is home to a variety of local SEDS Chapters in both state and private universities alike, SEDS KDU being the 19th and latest addition.
About SEDS KDU
SEDS KDU was founded in the year 2023 by a group of Engineering Undergraduates of Intake 37.
SEDS KDU organizes space-related projects all year round under the guidance of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering. All projects are planned and coordinated by the Executive Committee of SEDS KDU and executed by SEDS KDU's Divisional Managers and project-specific teams, voluntarily. Projects are hosted under SEDS KDU's distinct Divisions, which include:
