On January 11, 2024, SEDS KDU in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Planetarium organized a special evening planetarium show tailored for university students. Open to students across all SEDS chapters, and the Aeronautical Engineering department aiding with arranging transportation facilities for the attendees from KDU, the event drew a diverse audience, including faculty members and students from various disciplines at KDU. Notably, the Head of Department, Wg Cdr Kiriwella, graced the occasion. With over 250 participants in attendance, the planetarium show, skillfully conducted by lecturer Mr. R.M.G. Wanigasekara, delved into more in-depth and advanced topics than the regular show would. This included the formation and origins of the universe and various cosmic bodies such as Nebulae and Black Holes. The latter part of the session featured an immersive naked-eye observation session facilitated by the planetarium's Universal Projector. The objective of the project was to provide a valuable opportunity for students not only at KDU but also from other universities to enhance their understanding of the universe through knowledgeable lecturers and cutting-edge equipment available at the Sri Lanka Planetarium.

The event concluded harmoniously, with attendees partaking in refreshments and commemorating the occasion with a group photograph. This project successfully fulfilled its mission of expanding students' knowledge in astronomy through an enriching experience at the Sri Lanka Planetarium.
