The IESL YMS KDU Student Chapter, the 9th IESL YMS Student Chapter, is a dynamic platform for engineering students at KDU to connect, learn, and grow within the field of engineering. We aim to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical experience by organizing workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects that foster innovation and professional development among engineering students.

Established under the lESL Young Members Section, lESL Student Chapter of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University will act as the bridge for the gap between academic learning and professional engineering practice where the chapter provides a platform for students to engage in industry- relevant activities.

Engineering Council(ECSL)

Vision

The Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL) was established on 24th of August 2018 in line with the requirements of the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka Act No 4 of 2017 passed by the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka’s Parliament.

The ECSL is responsible for,

Maintenance of engineering practitioners’ professional standards and behaviour
Registration of several types of engineering practitioners and the administration of matters related to or incidental to that registration.
Different categories of engineering practitioners, recognized under ECSL

The Young Members’ Section maintains to garner interest to the IESL affairs and activities among Young Members, Associate Members and student Members of IESL and to provide Young Engineers opportunities for professional skills development, networking and inter-disciplinary dialogue while cultivating future leaders and facilitating succession enhancement of the IESL activities.
