Members participate an educational visit organized by IMarEST

Student members of Marine Engineering Society (KDU) participated on an educational visit to Colombo Dockyard PLC organized by Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) Sri Lanka branch, on 25th June 2022. The purpose of the visit was to enhance understanding on ship repairs, ship building and docking. The visit included an introductory session at main auditorium of Training center, Yard visit, and a Q&A session.
Students from Ocean University Sri Lanka and CINEC joined alongside participants from KDU, and the training staff of CDPLC conducted the session.
Mr. Gayan Perera (Ship Surveyor for Lloyd’s Register and representative from IMarEST- Sri Lanka) and LCdr (E) VADJV Perera (Lecturer – Department of Marine Engineering, KDU) also participated the visit with CDPLC training officials. Mr. Gayan Perera from IMarEST thanked all the participants for their participation amidst prevailing difficulties and the training staff for the support in making the event a success. The program concluded with lunch.
