The Mechanical Mechatronics Engineering society (MECH ES) was established in 2017 by the Department of Mechanical Engineering , with the approval of the University. It serves as a platform to develop professional Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineer, and to enhance the teamwork and leadership skills of the undergraduates.Since then it has been adding vivid experiences to the student life and a greater platform for the undergraduates by organizing guest lectures, workshops, competitions, social outreach activities, industrial day and exhibitions with the blessings of the university. These activities increase the creativity and soft skills of the students and facilitates the development of a Mechanical Engineer that responsible to the society.

Technical Manager of N M Distributors Pvt (Ltd), Mr. Sanjeewa Bandara conducted the guest lecture on “Fundamentals of Lubricants” on 20th of January 2022.
“Brainstorming Session” and the Fellowship Banquet of the IMechE Sri Lanka Group, of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, based in UK, was concluded at “Pegasus Reef” Hotel, Wattala on Saturday, 8th of January 2022.

Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Professor Rahula Attalage, delivered the keynote speech as the guest speaker, on “Insight to Building Energy Standards” on 17th of September 2021.
Mechanical Engineering society hand in hand with Marine Engineering society conducted a CSR project of cleaning Ratmalana Railway Station and access road of the same on 21st February 2020.
